Rendley docs

Example prompts

The best Rendley prompts describe the source, the audience, the intended result, and the delivery format. You can give the agent creative freedom or specify exact constraints. The examples below show both approaches.

Everything on this page uses the automation connector and a paid Rendley plan. AI generation and transformation can consume credits; the agent shows those steps for approval before running them.

Edit a local recording

Edit /Users/me/Recordings/customer-interview.mp4. Transcribe it, remove filler words, false starts, and pauses longer than one second. Keep the strongest explanation of why the customer switched products, add clean branded captions, and export a 16:9 1080p MP4 under two minutes.

This asks the agent to understand the recording before cutting it. A desktop, terminal, or IDE client that can read the path uploads the file, then Rendley performs the transcript-guided edit and export.

If you are using a browser client, attach the file to the conversation instead of referring to a local path. See Work with your files.

Turn long footage into social clips

episode-14.mp4 is a 70-minute podcast. Find the six strongest self-contained moments for a founder audience. Turn each into a 25–45 second vertical clip with a new hook in the first two seconds, keep the active speaker in frame, add high-contrast captions inside the safe area, and export each clip at 1080p. Preserve the full episode project and create separate versions for the shorts.

The agent transcribes the source, identifies moments by meaning, duplicates the work into separate edits, reframes each one, and returns multiple exports.

For a long batch, ask it to return download links as each export finishes so completed files are easy to collect.

Create a video from a brief and a folder

Use the product screenshots, logo, and demo clips in /Users/me/Launch-assets. Create a 30-second vertical launch video for mobile product managers. Lead with the problem of reviewing user feedback manually, show the dashboard as the solution, and end with “Start your free trial.” Use our workspace brand kit. Generate only the B-roll, voiceover, music, or sound effects that the supplied assets cannot cover. Export a high-quality 1080p MP4.

The agent inspects the supplied assets, chooses what belongs in each scene, generates the missing pieces, builds the timeline, applies the brand kit, and exports the result.

Use this structure when you have part of the material for a finished video and need Rendley to create the rest.

Turn a webpage into a video

Read https://example.com/product/launch-notes. Create a 45-second landscape product-update video from the page’s facts and usable images. Open with the biggest customer benefit, show the three most important changes, and end with the release URL. Use our brand kit, add a warm voiceover and subtle electronic music, then export at 1080p.

When you provide a URL, the agent can read the page and use media available from that source. It can generate or source additional visuals when the page does not provide enough material.

Be explicit about whether the URL is a factual source, a source of assets, or both.

Create motion graphics with your model subscription

Create a 20-second motion-graphics explainer in 16:9. Use four scenes to explain how our workflow moves from raw footage to approved video. Use the workspace colors and font, animate the logo in the opening, use large kinetic type for each step, and end on a clear “Create your first video” call to action. Let my connected model author the motion clips, then export at 1080p.

During the edit, Rendley gives your connected model a scene brief and its motion-design authoring guide. The model writes the editable animation code using the model access included with your MCP client plan. This does not consume Rendley generation credits; your model provider’s normal usage limits still apply.

The same approach works for animated explainers, title sequences, lower thirds, charts, logo reveals, product callouts, and custom transitions. See Motion graphics.

Localize a video

Make Spanish, German, and Japanese versions of webinar-highlight.mp4. Translate and dub the speech while preserving the presenter’s vocal character, add burned-in subtitles in each language, and lip-sync the presenter to the replacement audio. Keep the current edit and graphics unchanged. Export each language as a separate 1080p MP4.

Translation, dubbing, subtitles, and lip sync are separate operations, so name the outcomes you need. If you want subtitles without dubbing, or dubbing without lip sync, say so.

Rework and polish existing media

Use presenter.mp4 and office-background.jpg. Clean up the presenter’s audio, remove the video background, place the presenter over the office image, add a soft shadow, color-match the two sources, and upscale the final composition for a 4K export. Keep the result natural and avoid an over-processed look.

Rendley handles the analysis, audio cleanup, background removal, compositing, color work, and export as one job. The same structure works for product cutouts, green-screen-style compositions, image upscaling, or polishing AI-generated footage.

Apply your brand kit

The first time, ask the agent to save the reusable assets and styles:

Add these colors to the Marketing workspace brand kit: Navy #0B1F3A as primary, Orange #F25C05 as accent, and White #FFFFFF as background. Add logo.svg and Inter-Variable.ttf from this folder as brand assets.

Then reference the kit in later work:

Turn feature-demo.mp4 into a 30-second launch clip. Use the Marketing workspace brand kit for the title, captions, colors, font, logo, and writing style. Keep the copy direct, optimistic, and practical. Place the logo in the final card rather than over the whole video. Export vertical and square versions.

Brand-kit instructions are reusable across projects in the same workspace. You can still override part of the kit in a prompt when a particular campaign needs a different treatment.

Create a product ad with generated media

Use product-front.png, product-side.png, and the customer quote in brief.md. Create a 15-second vertical product ad with consistent product appearance across every shot. Start with a visual hook, show one close product detail, animate the product in use, and end with the quote and logo. Generate the scene images and video needed to complete the story, with native sound where appropriate. Add captions and export at 1080p.

Reference images help the agent keep a product or recurring character consistent. For a short ad, the agent can choose between a cohesive one-shot generation and a scene-by-scene workflow based on the brief and available models.

Continue an existing project

Continue the latest conversation in the “September launch” project. Keep the approved structure, replace the first three seconds with a stronger problem-led hook, shorten the second scene, make the captions larger, and add a square export. Do not regenerate the product footage.

Rendley can resume the project and its recent agent conversation, so you can refine a result without explaining the entire brief again. State what must stay unchanged to prevent unnecessary generation.

Prompt checklist

For the most predictable result, include:

  • Source: filenames, paths, URLs, or the existing project to use.
  • Goal: what the video should communicate or achieve.
  • Audience and platform: who will watch it and where.
  • Structure: hook, essential points, ending, and target duration.
  • Style: pacing, visual direction, voice, captions, and brand kit.
  • Constraints: material that must be used, avoided, or left unchanged.
  • Delivery: aspect ratio, resolution, format, and number of versions.

You can omit details you want the agent to decide. If a missing choice materially changes the result, the agent pauses and asks.
