Edit videos from your AI assistant

Rendley MCP connects the AI assistant you already use to Rendley’s video editor.

Give it raw footage, a folder of assets, a script, or a webpage, then describe the result you want. The assistant can inspect the material, build the edit, generate anything that is missing, and return an exported video. You can stay in the conversation instead of editing the timeline by hand.

Take the product demo and customer interview in this folder. Create a 45-second vertical launch video, remove the slow parts, add branded captions and a short animated opener, then export it at 1080p.

MCP uses the same Rendley Agent that powers the Automated Editing API. With MCP, you direct it from Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, or another compatible client instead of writing an integration.

From source files to a finished video

Give the assistant your files, links, a script, or an existing project. It inspects the material, plans the edit, works the timeline, generates whatever is missing, and renders the result. You get back a download link and an editable project.

The project remains available in Rendley Studio. You can open it for a final visual pass, change the timeline yourself, or return to the conversation and ask the agent for another version.

Translate speech, create dubbed versions, add subtitles, change a voice, and lip-sync replacement audio.

Connect the automation endpoint

Add this URL to your client as a custom MCP connector. The first connection opens Rendley so you can sign in and approve access. Clients that cannot complete browser sign-in can use a Rendley API key instead.

Once connected, ask the assistant to list your Rendley workspaces. If it returns their names, it is ready to work.

What happens during a run

The agent works in the background and reports progress in the conversation. It may pause when it needs you to approve a plan, confirm a credit-consuming generation step, review generated media, or answer a creative question. Reply in plain language and it continues from the same point.

Timeline edits and motion graphics authored by your connected model do not consume Rendley generation credits. Generating images, video, speech, music, or other AI media can use credits; the agent shows the proposed work before it spends them. Editing and exporting require a paid Rendley plan.
